We are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to the own the design of Pulsant’s cloud architecture and position in multi/hybrid cloud environments. The successful candidate would be responsible for the ongoing development of a comprehensive technical design and service wrap for both new and existing architecture.  This role will include an element of customer interaction from a pre-sales and service management perspective where advanced expertise may be required. It will also act as an escalation point for infrastructure and delivery in the provisioning and support of complex services and issues.

 

This role will involve engagement with the sales side of the business, specifically the propositions team to advise, support on the development and integration of cloud services.  It will be focussed on the continual improvement of our cloud platform as well as enabling and improving our capability to deliver and support those services from a people, process, and tooling perspective.  

 

The ideal candidate will have experience in engaging with teams across the business to develop the technical service wrapper around private cloud offerings within a hybrid cloud managed service provider.  A deep technical knowledge of converged infrastructures delivered with a code first approach is required.  Customer engagement providing expertise around multi-cloud environments, supporting complex issues, advising on architecture design and be able to interact with senior customer technical representatives to ensure they receive a world class service.

 

From time to time this role will be required to support pre-sales consultancy engagements, working alongside, and supporting Pulsant Solutions Architects & Consultants.

 

Key Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Understanding best practices regarding technical solution and design in terms of performance, automation, scalability, availability, security, manageability, adaptability, cost optimisation and foremost quality.
  • As part of product development processes, support the development and on boarding into Operations of new service offerings. Actively support the design, implementation and delivery of new Microsoft products, services and capabilities as defined by the business technology roadmap strategy.
  • Take the lead, where appropriate in developing integrations between Pulsant’s Cloud Platform and services into existing/future platforms.
  • Maintain technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights, specifically in relation to VMware.
  • Design, implementation, and support of automation services through best practice development and delivery process.
  • Work closely with the sales teams, other technical teams, and their own team members to ensure an efficient, stable, and high-quality service is delivered to our customers.

 

Skills & Experience

 

Complex technical support and deployment projects (where necessary, managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solution/projects)

 

Implementation, and/or support of complex application architectures (i.e. having an architectural sense for building hybrid cloud solutions with experience of VMware platform, VSAN, NSXT)

 

Proven track record of supporting and driving change into a cloud product family.

 

Proven track record of collaboratively resolving issues and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication

 

Prior work experience in a senior technical position within an MSP, software, or hosting services company

 

Deep technical experience of multi cloud technologies. 

 

Experience and knowledge upgrading to modern Server releases.

 

Experience and knowledge migrating or integrating customer workloads from other cloud platforms e.g. Azure, AWS.

 

Experience of the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program
