Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer whose role it will be to get involved in challenging and varied work – with daily exposure to different clients, interesting projects and cutting-edge technologies. You’ll have the chance to learn new skills and help shape the future of LayerV’s products and services. This job will require you to:

 

  • Implement Deployment and Operation automation

  • Act as a client-facing contact, in both our projects and managed services functions

  • Develop tools and processes required to maintain stability and performance of large scale distributed systems in the cloud

  • Produce internal technical documentation and review client technical documentation

  • Take responsibility for implementation and management of Cloud solutions – the full lifecycle of build, release, deployment and configuration activities

  • Ensure best practices are always adhered to with internal projects, and enable customers to use best practices when making any changes to their environments

  • Troubleshoot existing DevOps processes

  • Participate in On-Call support rotation

 

 

Skills & Experience 

We are looking for a self-motivated, individual with proven experience in a relevant technical role.  Your skills and experience will include a combination of the following:

 

. Docker and CI/CD workflow using docker based builders

. Git standard branching and release strategy;

. Configuration Management (Ansible/Chef/SaltStack);

. At least 2 of the following languages: Python, Ruby, Golang, Nodejs, Scala;

. Public clouds: AWS, Azure or GCP;

. Provisioning tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, Google Deployment Manager, Azure Resource Manager;

. MQ messaging tools (RabbitMQ, Kafka, ActiveMQ);

. SQL and NOSQL databases;

. Developing DAG’s for automated infrastructure processing;

. REST API and ability to develop simple RESTful API;

. Automated unit testing, deployment testing and deployment frameworks;
