The Provisioning Team Leader is responsible for ensuring the smooth, effective and efficient operation of the Provisioning Team, ensuring on time and in-full provisioning of new services and transitioning of existing services both from other IT providers, and between existing Pulsant solutions.  This role has responsibility for delivering a comprehensive support service, providing high quality, individually specified managed services to UK and Internationally based customers and the wider Pulsant business.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.


  • Ensure the team’s daily work stack and wider project delivery is well organised and resourced.


  • Provisioning: customer site installation, testing and support of Pulsant services including (but not exclusive to) Managed Hosting, Managed Network, Managed Applications, Colocation and Cloud Services as relevant to your individual technical skills.


  • Managing customer projects and work; e.g. ensuring that all internal and external customer orders received via the in-house ticketing systems are set the required SLA, allocated according to requirements and completed to a high standard.


  • Mentoring, coaching, management support, operational guidance and development including appraisals, evaluations and reporting of individual performance targets for the Provisioning team.


Skills & Experience


  • Extensive experience with Microsoft packages.
  • Extensive experience with Linux (RedHat, CentOS), Microsoft Windows Server, and virtualisation technologies (VMware vSphere).
  • Demonstrable experience with installation and advanced configuration of standard OS components and services.
  • Extensive experience with configuration and administration of SANs , both FC and iSCSI
  • Extensive experience with connectivity including load balancing, switching, firewall configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Solid hardware experience with HP servers/SANs (MSA and 3PAR) and Cisco networking equipment.
  • Experience contributing within complex medium / large scale IT projects to the SME market on time and on budget.
  • Experience of operating in virtual team environments.
  • Previous experience working as a Team Leader and managing a team.
