* Patching / Technical Support Engineer role - Newcastle *

 

This role  will be responsible for the operations and management of the Pulsant customer servers. Provide technical support to external customers & internal employees, assisting them with system administration.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Co-operate and work closely with all support and provisioning teams within Pulsant teams to ensure efficient, productive and high-quality System Administration support to customers with an emphasis on but not exclusively to:
    • Customer Server Patching
    • Customer Anti-Virus deployment
  • Work closely with the Account Managers to resolve customer system administration issues.
  • Proactively update customers via phone and ticket on the progress of their request with Pulsant in a timely manner.
  • Manage, categorise and prioritise customer system administration tickets.
  • Ensure that software license usage is correctly reported to required vendors.
  • Escalate and liaise with vendors, suppliers or partners where necessary.
  • Follow escalation processes; tickets to support management and other respective teams as required.

 

Skills & Experience 

 

  • Vast amount of experience of System Administration
  • Experience of installing, configuring and troubleshooting backup and restore problems.
  • Understanding software licensing
  • Experience with applying server patching
  • Understand anti-virus deployment.
  • Understanding of license usage especially Microsoft, Redhat, Suse, CSP and SPLA but not exclusively.
  • Anti-virus deployment: ESET.
